Abide in Christ

     Abide in Christ

What do you think about such an invitation.?

Did Jesus commanded us to do so? Yes, yes He did.

Is it at all possible? Yes, for Jesus doesn’t command what is impossible to be done.

Today I was walking on my tread mill and reading Abide in Christ by Andrew Murray (The joy of belonging in God’s presence) and I was impressed with what Mr. Murray states in Chapter 3 – TRUSTING HIM TO KEEP YOU. Actually there were a couple of things he stated that really stood out to me this morning. He mentions this, “Abiding in Him is not a work that we have to do…..but a consenting to let Him do all for us, and in us, and through us."

Stop now and consider how powerful and especially loving He is. He is this amazing creator who created universes and cells and sound and rainbows. He desired us and created us to enjoy His company and He amazingly enjoys us!

The next thought that gripped my attention this Sunday morning was, “when He says “Abide IN ME,” He offers Himself, the Keeper of Israel that slumbers not nor sleeps, with all His power and love, as the living home of the soul, where the mighty influences of His grace will be stronger to keep than all their feebleness to lead astray.

Sounds like it is actually takes work to pull in the opposite direction. A direction that leads to places that offer self-pity, frustration, anger, selfishness, and greed among a host of undesirables.

I’d rather be rooted in Christ and ABIDE in Him. I think I’ll take some lessons from this amazing looking tree trunk and stay rooted and rooting for the Lover of My Soul…

How about you?

Becky McLafferty will be guiding us along the tantalizing journey of writing tension and making our scenes sing.  Becky will have exercises for us to enjoy and explore.
The prompt to write to for this month is – Write about your own tense experience or bring a favorite scene from a beloved novel or poem or movie.
You are welcome to bring your own Work – In – Progress or WIP to share with the group for a five minute read.

Message Up-turned

I glanced at my magnet and well-- it looked Greek to me! Was my eyesight going bad?
I leaned in closer to take a better look.
I discovered something I didn't expect...

Somehow the message got turned around and spun upside-down!
Life does that sometimes too.
Wouldn't you agree?
Once I backed up and reached over and
spun the magnet to its proper position
I was able to read the true message.

Trust in the LORD with ALL
your HEART
and lean not on
your own
understanding;
Here is the rest of this very important scripture...
In all your ways acknowledge Him and He
will make your paths
straight!
Proverbs 3:5 - 6

TRUST the LORD at
ALL
TIMES...

Are you doing that...am I?
I think it suffices to say that
we all do better
if and when we do.

Blessings to you and yours!

Deborah Raney's "Two Roads Home" And Aria's Photo Shoot!

This 4th of July was loaded with surprises. First my daughter called so see if I wanted to go
on Aria's photo shoot! And a very special book arrived unexpectedly....

We started at the
park until the mosquitoes chased us away. That wasn't very nice!

So we ran to the Manitowoc Zoo and found some pleasing spots to take photos. You should
have seen the ones that we didn't get to take because Aria turned or walked toward us!

Then to my DELIGHT when I got home my husband had brought in the mail from yesterday
and there was Two Roads Home written by Deborah Raney!!!
What a wonderful surprise and I can't wait to read it!

Thank you Deborah for your generous heart! I will certainly be writing a book
review on Home To Chicory Lane and Two Roads Home!
Deborah's books are wonderful reads and I happily suggest these as worth reads.

Happy Forth of July to you all! What a wonderful history our nation has.
So many heroes, so many who gave up so much even their very lives
for our freedom.

Be safe and remember America and her roots!
